Then you just might be looking for New Orleans. Here’s why New Orleans is one of the world’s trendiest cities.
According to the International Hipster Index… It’s Pretty Trendy
Yes, the International Hipster Index is a real thing. Actually, it’s a ranking based on a study by a company called MoveHub. The study compared 446 cities across the globe based on five data points: the number of coffee shops, vegan restaurants, tattoo studios, vintage boutiques, and record stores.
According to the study, New Orleans ranked #22 internationally, coming in ahead of cities such as Zurich, Knoxville, Madison, St. Louis, and Vancouver, and just behind cities like Portland, Salt Lake City, Seattle, and Lisbon.
National Geographic Thinks So, Too!
Actually, National Geographic thinks New Orleans is one of the best small cities in the US, period. But they arrived at this conclusion by looking at some pretty cool categories, like the number of coffee shops and music venues, how often the city is Instagrammed, the dog-friendliness of the community, and the number of breweries, art galleries, and parks. The cities were then ranked based on where they performed the best.
New Orleans was rated the most “hipster-friendly” and trendy! Of note were the city’s bars, music clubs, and restaurants.
It’s Also a Top Travel City
According to Travel and Leisure Magazine, New Orleans is one of the Top 15 Cities to Visit in the US. Actually, it’s #2, coming in behind only Charleston, SC and ahead of numerous other destinations, like NYC, Chicago, Nashville, and even Honolulu.
What Makes New Orleans So Darn Cool?
