Known for its amazing courtyard and live music, Bacchanal is a charming Bywater wine and spirits shop that also offers signature NOLA small plates, like salt cod fritters and grilled sardines, as well as Mediterranean-inspired bacon-wrapped figs or watermelon gazpacho.
Dooky Chase’s
Soul food, an amazing lunch buffet, and African American art combine to craft a unique and utterly fantastic Creole 
restaurant known for its fried chicken, fried catfish, and Creole gumbo.
Brennan’s
Fine dining isn’t hard to find in the French Quarter, but it’s done particularly well at Brennan’s. Known for both its brunch and dinner, Brennan’s is where bananas Foster was invented and the spirit of old-world fine dining kept alive.
Willie Mae’s Scotch House
It might sound like a place specializing in spirits, but actually, it’s the fried chicken that’s earned Willie Mae a place on the list of NOLA’s best. And in addition to the chicken, there are plenty of great NOLA-style sides to enjoy, like butter beans, fried okra, cornbread, and mac and cheese.
Compère Lapin
A contemporary take on Caribbean food, Compère Lapin is a unique blend of both Creole and Italian dining. The menu is both tasteful and playful, brining intriguing flavors and modern twists to old classics.
Gabrielle
Located in the Treme neighborhood, Gabrielle is known for its signature duck dish, as well as its Ponce de Lapin rabbit belly and peppermint patty dessert. Its Creole and Cajun dishes are a favorite amongst locals.
Parkway Bakery & Tavern
If you’re looking for the best po’boy in town, the old-school NOLA working-class lunch joint of Parkway is the place to find it. And in addition to amazing po’boys, you get a friendly neighborhood vibe in a charming historic building.
Casamento’s Restaurant
Known for its oyster loaf (like a po’boy), Casamento’s is a relic of NOLA history with tiled walls, formica tables, and the
yummiest oysters in town—hand-shucked to order.
Herbsaint
This French and Italian inspired restaurant is the first of several top-notch eateries by chef-owner Donald Link. And not only is the food delicious, there’s charming outdoor seating along the downtown portion of the St. Charles streetcar line.
