The North Shore’s population has been exponentially increasing since the 1970s, and today, over 200,000 locals call this district home. Major highways include Interstates 10, 12, and 59, as well as U.S. Highway 11. Public transportation is also available through the STAR Transit System.

Searching for a school district that makes the grade? Look no further than St. Tammany Parish Public Schools. This amazing network of institutions consistently out-performs most other districts in the state, and there are plenty of learning opportunities for your student to explore.

St. Tammany Parish Public Schools boasts an 80% reading proficiency rate, as well as a low 16:1 student teacher ratio. Its 55 schools serve nearly 39,000 students, and in 2017, the district was given an “A” rating from the Louisiana Department of Education. Even if you don’t have children, you can still benefit from living on the North Shore—homes located in top-rated districts typically see an increase in value over time!
